Job Description

TransPro Freight Systems is hiring a Local Company Driver to join our award-winning fleet. We have been voted by the Truckload Carriers Association as The Best Fleets to Drive for the past 9 years and Top Fleet Employers awards for by our drivers. We are dedicated to providing you with the work enviroment you deserve.Our current opening is a dedicated lane in Kitchener, ON.You must have one year minimum of AZ driving experince to qualify!Apply today to join the TransPro team!Position Details:

  • Hours are 6am to 4pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
  • Shunt 53 dry van between three buildings - all in Kitchener, no GTA
  • No warehouse work, no loading
Core Duties:
  • At the start of your shift each day, inquire about any changes in procedure.
  • Follow company guidelines and procedures as set forth in your employee and applicable departmental handbooks.
  • Conduct business as the front line representative of the company in a professional courteous manner.
  • Wear Company approved apparel while representing the company.
  • Inspect equipment (tractor and trailers) and have defects repaired prior to utilizing it.
  • Immediately update the city dispatcher of any issues that will result in the delay or changes to the dispatch schedule you were assigned.
  • Inspect the Bill of Lading to ensure all the correct information is entered and is accurate for the pick up or delivery you are conducting.
  • Document and report any deviations from the documented amount on the bill of lading.
  • Document and report any damage to product prior to loading or occurring during loading.
  • Stay abreast of the capacity requirements of the city dispatch department.
  • Report for your regularly scheduled shift on time, if delayed, immediately update dispatch.
  • Remain ready to work until relieved of duty by the city dispatcher. Leaving prior to being relieved by city dispatch will be deemed abandonment of your employment and will result in corrective action.
  • Will read and abide by all company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures while on company property as well as at any customer locations either on or off duty.
  • Any time off requests must be submitted 2 weeks in advance.
  • Complete all documentation, legal and company issued required for the position and compliance.
  • Ensure your equipment is regularly maintained and inform the maintenance department when scheduled maintenance or annual safety is due.
  • At the end of each shift, conduct a vehicle inspection and report any defects to the maintenance department.
  • Utilize company time as efficiently as possible.
  • Other duties assigned.
