In this role, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the business and act as a point of contact for client inquires. You will support the needs of team members and that of the business, while working in a fast-paced enviornment with like-minded individuals.With your high attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities, you will collaborate with other professionals, managing a variety of daily administrative and bookkeeping functions such as:Preparing and editing correspondence, tax letters, memos and proposalsAssembling personal and corporate tax returns using industry specific software systemsFinalizing financial statements; drafting and finalizing monthly client billingsInteracting with clients and visitors to provide insight into queriesMaintaining cloud-based books of account for clients and their company'sPreparing journal entries and bank reconciliationsCompleting remittances and government reporting requirements for payroll, GST, HST, EHT, workers compensation, AR and AP, and monthly bookkeepingScanning, copying and saving documentsFiling and retrieving documents and reference materialsConducting research; analyzing data to prepare letters and reportsTo be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:Proficient computer skills (MS Office, Outlook); QuickBooks Online, Sage and other bookkeeping softwareRoutine database activity, utilizing industry softwareAbility to work independently to complete workload based on level of importancePerform job responsibilities effectively under conditions of fluctuating demandsCommunicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with professionalism and confidentialityAn understanding of finance and accounting-related principles and concepts would be an assetYour education and training will consist of:Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or equivalentCertified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) status with the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (IPBC) is an assetQuickBooks Online certified or equivalent would be an asset3+ years of related bookkeeping/administrative experienceA career at Strutt Armstrong offers the opportunity to work with a professional service team, and a progressive and growing firm.Interested applicants may forward a copy of their resume and salary expectations to hr@scpllp.com.
