“We are looking to hire 2 irregular on-call/supply positions per school site”.(PDSB21-060) Brantford(PDSB21-061) MiltonThe Ministry of Education, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch, Brantford Campus (W. Ross Macdonald School) and Milton Campus (Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf and Trillium Demonstration School) operates school/residential programs with the tradition and reputation for meeting the academic, personal, social, emotional and developmental needs of the individual children. Are you an experienced Cook seeking on-call hours primarily during weekdays If so, consider bringing your culinary expertise to this position where your primary role will be to prepare, cook and serve nutritious and appetizing meals.What can I expect to do in this roleIn this role you will:prepare a wide variety of foods through standard volume cooking methods, ensuring adherence to prescribed menus, works schedules and dietary chartsmaintain cleanliness of food services area, equipment/utensilsassist in the receiving and stocking of food itemsassist with inventory of suppliesperform other duties related to the operation of a large school cafeteriaavailability to work on-call hours as requiredHow do I qualifyKnowledge and ExperienceYou have thorough knowledge of food preparation, storage techniques/procedures and proper kitchen equipment operations, normally acquired through completion of a post-secondary education in chef/cook training course or related work experienceCompleted Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtainYou have demonstrated experience in institutional cooking methods and procedures, especially in large volume cookingYou have experience operating commercial/institutional food preparation equipmentYou know good handling/preparation techniquesYou know good hygiene and health and safety regulationsYou know nutritional principles to assist in planning menusCommunication and Interpersonal SkillsYou have excellent communication skills including the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsYou have the ability to work independently and as a team memberPhysical WorkYou have the ability to work shifts and perform physical workInterested candidates will be required to indicate what site they are applying to such as:(PDSB21-060) W.
