Due to exponential growth, they are hiring for a newly-created Director of Finance role. Please note that this role is 100% ONSITE. There is no remote or hybrid work.The RoleThe Director of Finance reports to the Managing Directors and is responsible for the Finance and Accounting process. As the Director of Finance, you will manage the month end process, full cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and prepare financial statements. You will also manage a Finance team of 3 staff.About YouTo be considered for this position, you are a CPA with 8+ years of accounting experience in a managerial capacity. The ideal candidate combines a strong foundation of accounting with Canadian corporate taxation. You are currently a Controller in a SMB organization where you report directly to the ownership team and manage the month end close and full cycle accounting. You are responsible for cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting. On a monthly basis, you prepare the financial statements and present the results to the owners. You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where you may be called upon to chip in an assist with many duties that fall outside of your Finance function. In addition, to be considered for this role, you must have strong ERP experience, and preference will be given to candidates who have past ERP implementation experience. What’s in it for you:

Job Requirements:Responsibilities:
  • Responsible and accountable for financial results, reporting directly to the Managing Directors
  • Manage a small team, providing coaching and development to help achieve their annual KPI’s, expand their capabilities, and grow their careers
  • Assist as needed in IT functions
  • Lead the implementation of an ERP system, actively manage the system moving forward
  • Interact with the companies’ financial institutions
  • Oversee month- and year-end close proceedings, completing deliverables within deadlines and ensuring a high level of accuracy
  • Collaborating with team on monthly P amp; L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow forecasting, gross margin, and variance analysis, providing results to Executive Management. Actively measure results against business plan/forecast and last year, proactively calling attention to risk areas and mitigation opportunities
  • Oversee annual budgeting process, participate in long-range planning updates
  • Build out annual and quarterly cash flow statements
  • Work cross team to implement process improvements for business, including AP (Accounting), AR, Customer Service and Planning (FP amp; A) systems
  • Actively manage credit facilities, ensuring compliance with bank covenants
  • Administer customer pricing functions in the ERP system
  • Represent Finance in monthly management meetings
  • Propose and/or assist with assessing and implementing cost-savings initiatives
  • Coordinate and be accountable for indirect tax compliance, oversee submission of all tax filings including annual corporate tax return
  • Complete Quarterly and Annual reporting schedule, coordinate year-end review engagement external auditors
  • Oversee and implement necessary internal control measures, ensure effectiveness
