Division Quality/Lean ManagerLocation: MILTON, ON, CanadaJob Family : QualityJob Type : RegularPosted : Oct 21, 2022Job ID: 36845Job DescriptionThe Division Lean & Quality Manager is the primary resource for supporting the Parker Canada Division Lean, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering processes. Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality and production. Responsible for implementing Lean and Six Sigma quality processes throughout all division departments and locations across Canada. By implementing processes and tools that eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions, improve productivity and ensures adherence to ISO processes. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. The position also focuses on compliance, customers and continuous improvement activities to create a culture of continuous improvement and quality at all levels.• Guides all Parker Lean Systems (PLS) initiatives within the Division. Works with Division Leadership and management on Lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented Division-wide. • Ensures adherence to PLS standards at the Division for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement Boards, enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals. • Leads Division wide Kaizen events supporting and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and process excellence. • Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction. • Manages the customer complaint procedure, facilitates the investigation of quality problems, faults, and non-conformances with operational and functional teams; manages corrective and preventative problems to ensure quality standards are maintained. • Facilitates customer facing activities and communications including customer visits, responses, and preparation of information while leading site audit activities (external body, internal and customer) • Establishes and develops professional working relationships with customers, providing a technical service and reference point as required to support the companys products and reputation as a quality supplier. • Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and standards set by corporate / division policies. • Ensures on-going education of all employees at the Division. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment. • Coordinates necessary Division personnel for internal, customer and third party quality system audits. • Maintains a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints. • Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality and the cost of poor quality. Uses the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts. • Collaborates with Purchasing on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy. • Collaborates with Engineering on new product development and design review for quality/reliability issues. • Maintain ISO quality system in compliance to ISO standard. • Lead Manufacturing Engineering processes to eliminate waste and improve productivity. • Communicates the status of Division wide Process Engineering initiatives with the Operations Manager.• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience demonstrating a self-starting and hands-on quality. • Minimum 10 years leading a cross-functional team consisting of Lean and Quality. • Experienced ISO Auditor. • Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. • Professional Engineer License is an asset. • Six Sigma training (green and/or black belt) • Proven experience applying lean and quality principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving, ISO, IATF or similar. • Thorough knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949 as applicable for automotive sector) is mandatory. • A proven track record of leading a team. • Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean enterprise. • Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment. • Good presentation skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division. • Highly developed people skills to effectively share the success and ideas of the Division. • Knowledge of ISO quality system, manufacturing and warehousing processes. • Skilled in information handling, analysis and presentation • Able to read manufacturing drawings/blueprints • Working knowledge of inspection of parts and finished goods (inspection techniques, interpretation of tolerances, gauges)Parker encourages applications from all qualified individuals and will accommodate applicants’ disability-related needs, up to the point of undue hardship, throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
