Theres a seat at our table for you...PullawayPosition Summary:The responsibility of the Pullaway is to shuttle pallets of product to specified areas of the warehouse, and assists with the receiving, tagging and lumping of product prior to its final destination.Shift: Monday-Friday (2pm-10pm)What We Offer:

Specific Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Inspection of tracker at the beginning of each shift.
  • Operation of an end/mid rider truck safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipments by shrink wrapping for safety.
  • Pulling pallets down aisles to be placed in designated areas in all three temperature zones (grocery, cooler, and freezer). Clean work areas before completing each shift.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including coverage for team members when absent or on vacation.
  • Able to be trained to operate other powered equipment safely.
  • Other duties assigned as required.
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to three (3) different temperature zones within the warehouse.
  • Grocery area in the warehouse is room temperature; varies from cold in the winter and warm in the summer.
  • Cooler area in the warehouse is approximately 1 or 2 degrees C.
  • Freezer area in the warehouse is approximately –15 degrees C. Some areas of the freezer can get as low as -23 degrees C.
  • Moderate noise level
  • There are approximately 60 employees working per shift.
  • CSA approved steel-toe safety boots must be worn on the warehouse floor. Employees are reimbursed $100 per year towards safety boots with proof of purchase after 90 days of employment.
Additional Details:
  • Employees are hired on a full-time basis. However, given the nature of the position, an employee’s hours of work will be irregular. Your hours of work may be scheduled on any day of the week (Monday through Sunday), with varying shifts.
  • During peak seasons, scheduled overtime is required, and may include up to 13 hour shifts.
  • There is a 30-minute paid lunch for an 8-hour shift and 40-minute paid lunch for a 10-hour shift.
  • GFS Delivers every day of the year, as we are a 24/7 operation. Employees must be flexible to work all Statutory Holidays, however, this does not necessarily mean that employees will be required to work all of them.
