Job Description

On behalf of our client located just west of the GTA, we are seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Lead. This position is running the Shipping and Receiving department requirements inside the production facility of a world-class manufacturer of custom equipment.The Shipping and Receiving Lead organizes, plans, directs and oversees incoming and outcoming material functions according to the KPI reporting structure. The main functions are to support a 95% inventory accuracy measure, accurate shipments, and timely documentation posting. This position works closely with the Engineering, Procurement, and Production departments.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead team of shipper and receivers
  • Ensures that all purchase orders received in a timely manner are properly documented in Syspro MRP and stocked in a designated area.
  • Ensures timely delivery of material to their respective fabrication, machining, or assembly areas.
  • Ensures timely shipping of material to their respective customers or vendors.
  • Provide accurate tracking information.
  • Provide accurate export documents.
  • Maintain inventory and record accuracy.
  • Manage disposition of all obsolete or excess parts.
  • Ensure filing of packing lists, etc. are completed
  • Interface with Production Control and Procurement to inform them of orders which are incomplete.
  • Run appropriate reports to manage inventory as required
  • Other work assigned to receiving/shipping functions.
  • Monitor all cycle count and bin by bin count programs and ensure consistency and accuracy in same and identify all operational problems in inventory.
  • Prepare and update all required paperwork for vendor products and ensure accuracy in all inventories and resolve any issues in same.
  • Administer return shipments of customers.
  • Monitor work of all inventory control personnel and ensure achievement of all objectives and provide improvements to same if required.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and maintain records of all stockroom locations.
  • Use forklift and lifting equipment.

  • Other duties as specified by the Supply Chain Manager
Education & Skills:
  • College Diploma or equivalent relative experience.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, ERP Systems.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and inventory techniques.
Experience:
  • One to three years Shipping/Material/Inventory Control experience.
  • Must possess Forklift license
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs
