Shannex is seeking a Community Manager to join their team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick . Reporting to the Health Services Manager , you will work to the Full Scope of Practice. A successful candidate will be responsible in planning, administering, and evaluating all aspects of resident care and services for their community and will expected to provide effective and strategic leadership in an interdisciplinary setting. The successful candidate will become familiar with all residents in their community and act as the main point of contact for residents and their families. This position provides direction in the maintenance of the resident-directed philosophy to support resident living. We are more than place to live or work - we are a community of people and friendships where the focus is on living well in the place residents call home.Who You Are…As the successful candidate, you have obtained your Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, have 2-5 years nursing experience (including two years in clinical nursing), and are currently registered with the Nursing Association of New Brunswick as a Registered Nurse. You have demonstrated both a desire to work in a progressive environment that embraces change, and a positive approach to new initiatives and opportunities for improvement. You possess knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization, administration, as well as knowledge of current literature and applied research for the delivery of health care. You also possess knowledge of operational and personnel rules and regulations, collective bargaining agreement and regulations governing long term care. Previous experience in working with the clients in long-term care or a senior’s independent living environment would be considered an asset, along with computer skills and experience with electronic information systems and Alzheimer’s & other Dementia Care course (U-First training preferred).How you will do it…Providing clinical leadership and oversight of the electronic resident documentation system;Promoting and maintaining effective communication with all residents and family to support quality resident care and services by building trusted partnerships;Supervising and evaluating nursing department staff, which includes work assignments, training, disciplinary procedures, and performance evaluation;Supervising, directing and evaluating the work of all community staff to promote quality service, positive employee relations, employment obligations and effective and efficient operations.
