Job Description

Job DescriptionAn Industrial Painter/Sandblaster is responsible for completing the following duties:

  • Prepare metal for painting and apply paint to completed production jobs and sub-assemblies
  • Prepare metal for painting, which includes sandblasting, wiping down steel to remove oil and cutting fluids, and verifying removal of spatter and slag
  • Mix paint properly
  • Use correct paint equipment settings and adjustments pertaining to airless spray equipment.
  • Perform daily maintenance routines on paint equipment
  • Identify and mask areas that are not to be painted
  • Use proper paint application procedures
  • Inspect paint job in progress for quality problems, such as runs and missed areas
  • Clean paint booth and lights and change filters
  • Organize and maintain paint storage
  • Coordinate flow of and complete necessary paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Past paint experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of mixing and applying different classes of paint preferred
