Job Description

Job Posting Manager Miramichi Regional Housing Authority The Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission (GMRSC) is a public organization established under the Regional Service Delivery Act and is responsible for the delivery of a large number of services throughout the Miramichi region. The GMRSC will serve as the Miramichi Regional Housing Authority and requires an experienced individual to manage this new initiative.Post Summary: The Manager is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of theMiramichi Regional Housing Strategy. This is a three-year contract position, with the possibility of renewals.The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication, public relations and presentation skills;
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal programs aimed at increasing and diversifying the housing stock;
  • Knowledge of services and organizations in the Miramichi region;
  • The ability to work with a variety of groups, for example: board of directors, senior staff, community stakeholders, and government agencies;
  • The ability to prepare and present reports for the GMRSC Board and other stakeholders;
  • The ability to work with public and private sector clients to facilitate the expansion of all forms of housing in the region;
  • Knowledge of the municipal by-laws, including zoning and subdivision
  • The ability to participate in meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and other sessions, in order to gain first-hand knowledge of new or improved housing programs in the public and private sectors;
  • The ability to manage and promote regional/provincial/national housing incentives and provide referral services;
  • The ability to establish and manage a database of available rental units in the Miramichi region; and
  • The ability to perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director.
The qualifications of the successful candidate will include:
  • University education (Bachelors or Masters degree) in urban planning or business administration, equivalent training and experience may be considered;
  • Three years of experience in a management position;
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English required, and spoken competency in French would be considered an asset;
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office and social media platforms;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent presentations skills;
  • Networking and facilitation skills;
  • Discretion, maturity, and good judgment;
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing strategies within a budget; and
  • Knowledge of the communities in the Miramichi Region.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary: To be determined based on education, experience, and qualifications.
  • Contract Position: 35 hours / week
