Job Description

UNDERGROUND OPERATOR MINER CLASS 3Permanent position – UnionizedPosition to fill 1Code MI22-34Hourly rate 34,76$Deadline to apply AUGUST 30, 2022The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.privileges & benefits

Future challengesReporting to the Mining Supervisor, the main tasks of an Underground Operator Miner Class 3 will be to:
  • Principally operate CAT AD30 haul truck to transport ore and waste from underground to surface;
  • Operate CAT 420F Backhoe for production activities;
  • Operate CAT 120H Grader to maintain underground ramps;
  • Operate various service equipment; fuel truck (MacLean), boom truck (Rocktech), Toyota Landcruiser;
  • Operate other surface mine equipment as required;
  • As required, perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Profile required
  • Possess an ore extraction training (DEP) or possess a secondary V diploma (DES) with the equivalent in experience;
  • Possess 2000 hours on a CAT AD30 truck;
  • Possess 1000 hours on a fuel truck;
  • Possess 1000 hours on a service truck;
  • Experience using the CAT 420F backhoe or CAT 120H grader is a plus;
  • General knowledge of mechanics;
  • Possess a general explosive permit;
  • Possess a valid drivers license;
  • Possess its mining modules FMTM 1 to 5 & 7.
