Job Description

Shannex is seeking a Receptionist to join their team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick . Reporting to the Health Services Manager , the Receptionist performs public contact work in greeting, screening and routing callers and visitors; performs clerical and related tasks as required for the clinical department and facility as required . We are more than place to live or work - we are a community of people and friendships where the focus is on living well in the place residents call home.How you will do it…Receives and routes telephone calls, greets and directs visitors as appropriate; provides routine information and responds to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff; refers to the appropriate person as necessary;Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail and couriers; distributes forms, reports and other documents to appropriate personnel and departments;Performs a wide variety of typing assignments, which are sometimes confidential in nature; operates personal computer to enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports and other material;Complete physician billing processes as necessary;Prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment; maintains and distributes office supplies;Performs basic, routine bookkeeping functions, which involves petty cash reconciliation, clothing allowance, trust deposits and payments on client accounts;Establishes, maintains, processes, and updates files, records, and other documents, including resident master lists, next of kin lists, resident admissions/ transfers / discharges; maintains resident discharge files;May book resident medical appointments and arranges transportation;Ensures client safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided.Prepares and maintains resident charts and care plans.Files and maintains records such as admission and discharge documents.Makes appointments and arranges transportation for residents as necessary;Orders, stocks and maintains inventory of care department.Promotes a safety culture by continuously working safely including but not limited to identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely and completing safety education.Performs all other duties as assigned.Requirements For the role include:High School diploma or equivalent education.The knowledge, skills and abilities for this role include :Knowledge of safe use of chemicals;Ability to read and write the English language, ability to read and write in French an asset;Works and communicates with internal and external customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner;Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently;Knowledge of medical terminology;Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment;Ability to operate personal computers including various software packages including Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Publisher and various database software applications;Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information;Demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail.Great People is a core value at Shannex based on the belief that our team members are the spirit and foundation of the organization.
