Job Description

DISPATCHTemporary position – UNIONIZEDPosition to fill 4Code RH22-27Hourly rate 26,99 $Deadline to apply AUGUST 30, 2022The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is 11 hours per day on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.Privileges & benefits

RESPONSIBILITIESMain :Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Dispatcher tracks communications to keep the mobile equipment availability tracking system up to date for the entire mine site. Specifically, he:
  • Processes radio communications regarding any changes in the status of the mobile equipment fleet;
  • Interacts with the various supervisors at the site;
  • Produce and write various reports;
  • Performs all other related tasks.
Secondary responsibility:Reporting to the Security & Emergency Response Supervisor, the dispatch agent ensures the safety of all employees at the mine site, as well as the company’s assets. Its main responsibilities are:
  • Processes radio communications for all road movements within the companys territory;
  • Responds to emergency calls, dispatches resources, and supports the action plan;
  • Relay urgent requests by radio, telephone or in person when necessary;
  • Initiate searches if a vehicle has not arrived at its destination in a timely manner;
  • Involved in the logistics of employee transportation;
  • Produces and writes various reports;
  • Performs all other related tasks.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma;
  • Dispatcher training will be considered an asset;
  • Possess a valid class 5 drivers license;
  • Possess a valid CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training.
Assets
  • Bilingual (English and French);
  • Experience in the mining sector in northern Quebec;
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
