Job Description

Modular Fabrication Inc. is one of the largest steel fabrication facilities in New Brunswick. We specialize in steel bridge girders, tanks, material handling equipment and heavy structural construction.We are currently seeking applicants for the position of ‘Site Health and Safety Coordinator’. The project involves the installation of bolted tanks and structural steel for a mining project in Northeast Ontario.This job will require staying at a construction camp while on site (20 days on 10 off or 14 days on and 14 off, other shifts may be available). Work hours will be 70 to 77 hours per week. Overtime is after 40 hours per week.Position: Site Health and Safety CoordinatorSome responsibilities include:

  • Report directly to the Construction Manager;
  • Ensure all safety plans are being followed;
  • Promote safety with all staff;
  • Monitor site activities;
  • Must be able to promote Safety;
  • Assist in tool box meetings;
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports as required.
Experience / Education:
  • 3+ years’ experience required in the mining industry is required;
  • 5+ years’ experience as Health and Safety Coordinator;
  • Certified safety professional;
  • Diploma or Certificate in Health and Safety is Considered an asset;
  • Knowledgeable with COR Certification;
  • Must have First Aid certification;
  • Must have Emergency Response Team Experience;
  • Good experience with MS Office;
  • Must possess excellent communication skills;
  • Must be organized;
  • Fall arrest and aerial platform training is an asset;
  • Have a background in quality is considered an asset.
Modular Fabrication offers an excellent benefit package. Compensation will be evaluated based on experience.All Travel expenses to and from mine site are paid by Modular.Please note that only persons who are legally allowed to work in Canada can apply for this job.Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 6 monthsAdditional pay:
