Job Description

Dennis Group Canada and IFAB Engineering Partners Ltd. are seeking serious applicants to fill the role of Administrative Project Manager. Work is performed in collaboration with a full complement of designers and engineers from a variety of disciplines. The role is to be an integral part of the project team, helping coordinate projects with a focus on proposal writing, scope changes, RFIs, and shop drawings.The ideal candidate has experience in the role of an administrative project manager or project coordinator role, or a similar position, and understands the fast-paced world of multi-million dollar projects.   • Play a key role in projects by organizing project teams and deliverables from the early stages of proposal writing right through to project closeout;Assist project managers to lead the project team through preliminary design, full engineering permitting, tendering, and construction phases of projects;
  • Coordinate with the extended project team, including Owner #39;s personnel, other engineers, equipment providers, municipal officials, and authorities having jurisdiction;
  • Prepare all record documentation;
  • Maintain the internal project schedule, updating the documents during the development of the project design;
  • Monitor all necessary documents for the life cycle of the project, including proposal writing, request for information (RFI), change orders, shop drawings, progress draws, substantial performance certifications, and managing document control throughout;
  • Assist with office administration duties including scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements, and acting as first point of contact for in person, email, and telephone inquiries on a scheduled basis;
  • Complete project closeout documents; and
  • Other duties as required
Position Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized certificate or diploma in a related field, or equivalent, from a recognized college, university or training institution;
  • Technical background with design or construction would be seen as an asset;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational, and coordination skills, as demonstrated through previous work;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks, and show extended patience when waiting for others to complete their work;
  • Demonstrated ability and interest to work as part of a team;
  • Desire to develop skills and expand career, ideally into project management;
  • Experience in a consulting engineering firm is considered an asset but is not a requirement.
Travel and working conditions
  • Work is completed in a newly renovated modern office environment.
  • Some travel to local project sites for project meetings is expected.
