Job Description

Forterra Building Products is seeking a qualified Inside Sales Representative for its Cambridge, ON area.Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Representative is an entry-level position for an energetic, career driven individual who would like to eventually move into a territory sales position. The Inside Sales Representative will be trained on Forterra Pipeamp; Precast #39;s product line and learn how to perform material takeoffs and quotes. This person will be required to provide back up the Sales Coordinator and learn various aspects of that role. The individual will spend time in both, production and engineering, to gain knowledge and experience of how our product is produced. The incumbent will interact with both internal and external customers and will be promoted into a territory sales role based on their performance. New hire must be able to relocate with the company when a territory sales opportunity presents itself.Forterra is a leading manufacturer of pipe and products in the U.S. and Eastern Canada for a variety of water-related infrastructure applications, including water transmission, distribution and drainage. Based in Irving, Texas, Forterra employs more than 5,000 people and operates more than 85 facilities, with products available throughout the U.S. and Eastern Canada.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESamp; TASKS

  • Provide product quantity quoting and take offs for pricing
  • Stormceptor follow ups - obtain pertinent information to price stormceptors and provide results/details to Sales Reps.
  • Tracking of tenders on construction work
  • Assist with quoting on new products or value added products
  • 50% of time doing material takeoffs and the other 50% time following up on non-awarded jobs
  • Assist the sales coordinator
  • Maintain an up to date tracking of jobs
  • Provide our customers with efficient service on pricing and quoting
  • Able to provide general support to the sales and engineering teams that will help the sales team achieve its objectives
  • To develop relationships with contractors, engineers, suppliers etc.
  • Notify management of any customers concerns
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education with a concentration in engineering and/or construction
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, ability to convey trust
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Analytical and results driven
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle to know
