Job Description

GFI, a Westport Fuel Systems company, designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy-duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This product mix includes Hydrogen (H2) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) components such as pressure regulators, tank valves, PRD #39;s, PRV #39;s, shutoff valves and integrated systems for a wide range of applications, including Fuel Cell vehicles.OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the growing alternative fuels industry. We #39;re looking for energetic and motivated team members for our sales team. This role is focused on working with external customers and internal engineering to provide solutions for our customers.Position Responsibilities:

  • Key Account Manager (KAM) for designated customers
  • Work with customers to determine their program requirements and anticipated forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal engineering to determine how to satisfy customer requirements or offer compromises
  • Work with internal team to review and highlight project priorities and milestones
  • Create and issue deviations for products when necessary
  • Create cost estimates for products
  • Review and respond to customer RFQ #39;s
  • Create quotes for customers
  • Represent Westport at industry events
  • Seek growth opportunities for Westport
  • Utilize ERP system for customer orders as needed
  • Other duties as required to support the team
Healthamp; Safety Responsibilities:
  • Promote Westport #39;s H amp;S culture following all Environmental , and H amp;S procedures and understanding your obligations and responsibilities
  • Report unsafe conditions, behaviors and all accidents
  • Co-operate with JHSC (Joint Healthamp; Safety Committee) and Safety representative
Position Requirements:
  • B.Sc. in Engineering or similar technical degree
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Technical background in order to understand products and customer needs
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to interface with others in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer experience with Microsoft products
  • Experience in alternative fuels industry considered an asset
  • Experience with valves, regulators and similar products considered an asset
  • Experience with APQP tools such as FMEA and DVP amp;R considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of quality standards such as IATF 16949 considered an asset
  • Familiarity with ERP systems considered an asset
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:This position is required to lift up to 25 lbs and to use various hand operated measurement tools and computer operated tools such as a CMM. The position requires bending, reaching, torquing fasteners, visually inspecting components and measuring components. This position will also perform office work and requires the ability to move throughout the building to interact with others. The position also requires use of computers, therefore finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
