Job Description

Senior Operations Manager, Seasonal Resorts and Manufactured Home Communities (MHC #39;s) - Ontario RegionBased in Waterloo, ONKillam Apartment REIT (TSX:KMP.UN), is a growth-oriented real estate investment trust which owns, manages and develops multi-family residential properties in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. Killam is focused on maximizing its value and long-term profitability through increasing earnings, expanding the portfolio through acquisitions, and developing high-quality properties in its core markets.We are currently searching for a Senior Operations Manager, Seasonal Resorts and Manufactured Home Communities (MHC #39;s) to join our team, overseeing our properties in the Ontario region. This position will be based in Waterloo, ON.Duties will include:

  • Supporting the Seasonal Resort and Manufactured Home Community team to ensure communities are managed and maintained to company standard;
  • Hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and performance managing all reporting employees;
  • Working closely and cooperatively with co-workers, senior management, contractors and the public while providing excellent customer service;
  • Overseeing the teams, providing daily maintenance of the seasonal resorts and communities;
  • Overseeing capital projects at the resorts and communities;
  • Approving alteration requests and lot developments;
  • Resolving issues that may arise within the communities and surrounding seasonal resorts, including but not limited to:
Water systems, wastewater systems, electrical infrastructure, and equipment maintenance.
  • Completing regular community inspections;
  • Ensuring compliance with legislated occupational Healthamp; Safety procedures;
  • Working cooperatively with government agencies, Ministry of Environment, local health units, TSSA and ESA where required;
  • Other duties, as required.
Who you are:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proven leadership skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act;
  • Previous experience working in seasonal resorts, manufactured housing industry, or other multi-family residential is considered an asset;
  • Ability to lead a team, work within a team, as well as work individually;
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • Must be willing to travel between properties on a regular basis, and on short notice;
  • Must have a valid driver #39;s license.
