Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: In collaboration with the administrative support team at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the neurologist by ensuring effective management of the daily activities of the neurology clinic. The incumbent performs various administrative support duties, including office, reception and secretarial duties. The incumbent schedules appointments, welcomes clients, receives and transfers calls, manages billing, prepares forms and keeps databases and statistics up to date, etc.REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED);Recognized postsecondary secretarial or office administration training (two-year program);Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant and equivalent may be considered;One to three years’ experience in a medical secretary position; experience in a health-related field is a definite asset;Advanced skills in office practices, modern technologies, and information technology (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Meditech, Outlook, and comfortable in the Windows environment);Sense of responsibility;Strong skills in planning, organizing, time management and meeting deadlines;Tact in interpersonal relationships;Courtesy and helpfulness;Discretion and respect for confidentiality;Personal qualities as follows: initiative, creativity, adaptability to change and positive attitude;Flexibility in working hours as needed;Ability to work independently and as part of a team;Physical ability to perform assigned work;Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network’s management philosophy and organizational values;Adherence to the Network’s confidentiality rules.The above requirements may be verified through oral, written or practical tests during the selection process.Should there be no fully qualified applicants, this position will not necessarily be reposted.
