More than just a job, we offer rewarding careers. #39; #39;Job DetailsReporting to the Team Leader, Catastrophe Claims Services, the claims advisor is accountable for providing quality service and managing expenses through the claims settlement process. Other duties include: opening new claims, setting up appraisals, assigning contractors, investigation, negotiation and settlement of residential and auto claims; generating financial transactions and finalizing settlements in a timely fashion. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Meet or exceed the needs of the customer by adjusting claims in accordance to policy coverage with accuracy and speedPro-actively work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure a legendary customer experience in all interactionsAppropriately leverage external vendors, approved and non-approvedShare knowledge, expertise and provide advice to colleagues in order to recommend additional services/support/resources to the customer, where necessaryEnsure customer problems are handled appropriately and escalating issues when necessaryContribute to a positive working environmentDemonstrate flexibility to be able to change activities based on customer and business needsActively participate in the performance management processMeet professional/personal development objectives by utilizing learning maps and external courses as requiredEngage in and complete all internal training required for the roleActively participate in regular meetingsActively participate and/or lead peer coaching and trainingProvide guidance and technical support to colleaguesAssess and mitigate risks and escalate as requiredEnsure accurate and timely reserving of claimsContribute to the business objective for Operational Excellence by adhering to mandatory compliance and audit requirementsUnderstand and apply business operation policies and procedures and legislationBe knowledgeable of and comply with company and industry codes of conductEnsure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all insurance claimsJob RequirementsBilingualism in English and French is an assetProficiency in XACTANALYSIS is an asset2+ years of experience in a claims adjusting role (multiple lines would be considered an asset)CIP designation is preferredEffective Communication Listening, Empathyamp; Compassion Negotiation skillsYou have a superior client service orientation.
