HEALTHamp; SAFETY MANAGERWe are seeking a Healthamp; Safety Manager to join the Mowi Canada East Inc. team! Position location is flexible within central New Brunswick with travel throughout Atlantic Canada required.ABOUT THE JOBReporting to the Directing Manager, in this role you will manage our Healthamp; Safety Department to support all aspects of the organization in the delivery of a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety program.The main duties of this role include, Working with the management team in a collaborative and productive manner to foster an engaged safety culture; Developing and monitoring health and safety initiatives; Leading the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures, including drills and exercises; Coordinating with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and permits; Prepare and manage a health and safety compliance budget; Leading investigations into incidents and accidents, determining the root cause and implementing corrective actions; Conducting workplace inspections and audits; and being a mentor for health and safety.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORThe ideal candidate would be safety oriented and forward-thinking with a passion for the industry. They would have:3+ years #39; experience as a Healthamp; Safety ProfessionalPost-Secondary qualification in Occupational Healthamp; SafetyPrevious experience in aquaculture and/or manufacturing would be an assetLeadership and project management experienceWell-developed English verbal and written communicationGood computer and document management skillsUnderstanding of OHS administration including WorkSafe claims managementThorough knowledge of OHS regulations and requirements as they relate to marine environmentsAbility to effectively liaise with regulatory officialsEffective presentation and employee training skillsA positive attitude, willingness to learn and participate in training opportunitiesAbility to work well with employees across the organization in a team orientated environmentAbility to work safely and effectively in challenging weather and travel by boat to marine sitesAbility to operate a small vessel to and from marine sites when necessaryMarine related training certificates would be an assetLegal eligibility to work in Canada and able to travel to all of our locations throughout Atlantic CanadaWHAT WE OFFERAlong with being part of an experienced team with a global industry leader.
