This individual must set production performance standards and align the organization to achieve standards. This position is hands-on and the individual will need to learn how to operate the packaging equipment.QualificationsPost-secondary education is considered an assetStanding for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50lb2-3 years of supervisor experience is an assetForklift experience is an assetWork under pressure, repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, attention to detailStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-taskProficiency in the use of various computer applications including SAPWill require to be hands-on in this role including working on the line as neededMaintenance experience is an asset ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly physical count of all packaging inventoryCoordinate with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure all materials stored at Warehouse are on hand for packaging when neededCommunicate inventory levels with Operations Manager to determine re-order pointsSchedule staff according to packaging demands (Mill Road and Edinburgh Drive)Communicate with maintenance to ensure all change-over requirements are met for packagingCommunicate with start-up operator to ensure equipment is ready for packagingOrganize plant floor to ensure all required materials are on-hand for employeesCommunicate packaging run details with operators (order of products, running speeds, pallet patterns, etc.)Assess mechanical issues as they arise and determine whether maintenance personnel are neededProvide leadership, including the handling of employee relation issues/performance managementMonday to Friday, day shiftsWeekends offThe occasional weekend shift might be required
