Visit our website www.dormakaba.comPositionAs the Paymaster, Canada, you will report to the Manager, Total Rewards and HR Shared Services, Canada. The principal role of the Paymaster is to ensure the accurate, complete and timely payroll processing and reporting for all employees in Canada. You will be responsible for the governance of the Canadian Companys various payroll analyses, source deductions, remittances to organizations, accounting frameworks, production of monthly financial reports and salary statements.You will also be responding to a range of requests from employees and managers about payroll, group benefits, and pension. This position is an important pillar in the establishment of our Canadian HR Share Services.Key responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and processing of the bi-weekly payroll for over 650 hourly and salary employees in Canada;
  • Ensure compliance with source deductions and government remittances
  • Manage the year-end detailed payroll validation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of yearly payroll data: this includes pension adjustments, taxable benefits, and all required filing
  • Research and interpret Labor and Tax legislations to ensure payroll compliance with the necessity to stay current in all of them
  • Oversee the Time and Attendance system, developing processes and procedures, leading system updates, resolving timecard issues and developing training for end users in conjunction with HR Shared Services
  • Enter all required changes in our HR systems (hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, salary changes, LOA)
  • Manage the enrolment of new employees in the Group-Insurance and Pension plans and the associated employee payroll deductions
  • Liaise with all other departments, employees, supervisors, government agencies, internal and external auditors for any payroll questions or requirements
  • Troubleshoot with ADP regarding software / payroll issues
  • Streamline procedures to ensure the quality of information, data integrity between the systems and benefits process improvements
  • Maintain and validate the annual vacation and sick day banks of the employees
  • Participate in month-end reconciliations with Finance
  • Prepare on-demand reports or statements in relation to payroll
  • Support the Health & Safety Specialist regarding salary declarations (CNESST claims).
Qualifications/Requirements
  • College degree in Administration or university certificate in HR
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Paymaster or a Payroll Specialist/Technician role (within a manufacturing environment is an asset)
  • Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (undeniable asset)
  • Solid experience in payroll and benefits with Canadian, Quebec and Ontario legislations
  • Experience using Pay@Work or Workforce Now (ADP), a strong asset
  • Experience in system implementation and process improvement, a strong asset
  • Ability to work in an environment where the volume of requests is high and time sensitive
  • Perfectly bilingual (verbal and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and particularly of Excel.
