Job Description

Bi-Weekly Hours: 45 hours bi-weekly/ 7.50 hour shifts/ Days/ Evenings as required. (Commencing Immediately)The Addiction Worker, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Addictions Souris/Montague, will provide care to Outpatient clients of Souris/Montague Addiction Services. Duties will include but not limited to- assisting with the admission/discharge procedures and case plans for clients;- assisting clients in building life skills;- assisting the clinical staff in daily functions of the unit;- completing information on client records according to program policy;- assessing and monitoring client behavior, and reporting any major changes to the Team Lead;- assisting with urine collections;- participating in group sessions as required;- performing other related duties.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: - successful completion of a Resident Care Worker Program, Licensed Nursing Program or equivalent post secondary training/education;- demonstrated ability to work in a multi disciplinary team environment;- capable of sustained physical activity;- good communication and judgment skills;- have a good previous work and attendance record;- the successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to beginning employment;- an understanding of the nature of addictions would be considered an asset;- additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.Please Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
