All qualified applications will receive consideration without regard to sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, colour, religion, nationality, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: • Applicants must have or be eligible to hold a PEI Teachers License; • Applicants must have a Masters in Counselling, Counselling Psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling that includes graduate courses in five of the following areas: - communication and relationship skills - group counselling - career development - methods - learning and human development - psychological education - counselling interventions and strategies - multi-cultural counselling - counselling in specialized settings - counselling ethics• Experience at the High School grade level;• Knowledge of grade level curriculum;• Knowledge of differentiated instruction;• Knowledge and ability to contact outside agencies on how to best support students;• Commitment to working with families to support the best learning for students;• Good classroom management skills, knowledge of effective teaching strategies and be able to demonstrate teamwork and collaborative practices;• Commitment to school community, demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and strong communication skills.The following would be considered assets: • Experience with PowerSchool;• Level B Assessment training;• ASIST & NVCI training;• Experience running student groups (ie: Anxiety, Friendship, Two-Family Homes, etc.);• PREPaRE Crisis Prevention and Intervention training;• Experience with post-secondary planning.Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.Quick Apply
