NATURE OF THE WORKThe principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in assuming the duties of network administrator of the College, carrying out highly technical duties and developing various computer programs intended for the processing of data from systems whose specifications have been established by themselves or the analyst. They may be called upon to coordinate the work of a team of Data Processing (Computer) Technicians.More specifically, the employee will be performing technical duties related to network, computers, and peripherals, and providing technical support to users. Under the supervision of the IT Operations Coordinator, the Computer Technician for Mechanical/Civil Engineering and Computer Science is responsible for installing, upgrading, and managing the specialized software and supporting the faculty and students in its use.RESPONSIBILITIES
