Working for VIA Rail is being a part of a collective effort in sustainable mobility.Reporting to the Sr. Advisor, Apprenticeship Program & Training, the Coordinator will ensure the coordination of administrative activities of the training program to facilitate the efficient operation of the department and provide adequate support to the Maintenance centre training team.Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize training sessions.
  • Work closely with operations supervisors to coordinate employee attendance at training sessions, ensure the availability of internal trainers or external vendors and reserve rooms and equipment for training.
  • Enter training program data and updates into the Training Management System (TMS) (create training sessions, register participants and record attendance, etc.).
  • Run training analysis reports and other training needs and attendance reports in order to ensure that training programs run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders regarding training needs and delivery.
  • Processing and co-ordinating invoice tracking for the training department.
Requirements :
  • College diploma in a related field (HR, Training, etc.) or a combination of skills, education and experience that are relevant may be considered;
  • At least 3 years of established and relevant experience in a similar role in a training or HR environment;
  • Strong abilities in coordinating activities and establishing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Possess very good interpersonal and communication skills in order to collaborate with the members of the various teams and develop suitable trust relationships;
  • Flexible, able to adapt to change and evolving priorities, and remain calm under pressure;
  • Self-sufficient and able to do the work on his or her own initiative, with limited guidance or supervision;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), VIP, Oracle and Sharepoint, is an asset.
