Job Description

We are currently looking for a Deskside Support Technician in Montreal, QC . As a Deskside Support Technician, you will provide the first line of support for personnel experiencing issues with systems, applications or services. You will also be required to monitor and support application consoles, backups/restores, storage devices, environmental systems and infrastructure.This is a full-time opportunity offering 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day with 30 minutes of unpaid break.You will be working mostly M-F, either 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm.Duration: 3 months (possibility of direct hire depending on performance).Responsibilities:

  • General on-site technical support, windows 10 upgrades, new device deployment.
  • Responsible for supervising the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.
  • Test and image desktops and laptops.
  • Provides support to end-users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
  • Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years experience working as a Deskside Support Technician and or lead break/fix Field IT technician.
  • Previous experience with IT Customer service ‘Level 1’ & Desk-Side services ‘Level 2 support’ roles.
  • Experience troubleshooting client issues connecting to & using network available services.
  • Must have excellent communication skills in order to carry out the job effectively.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.
  • No criminal record.
Nice to Have:
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or information technologies.
  • CompTIA A+ certification.
  • Active Directory knowledge (creating user accounts, resetting passwords, adding users to groups, etc).
  • Experience with Lotus Notes/SAP/Unix is a plus.
