Job Description

  • Provide strategic support to the Country Head ERC including managing / being an active team member of strategic Projects for a range of Compliance topics.
  • Single point of contact for assigned areas of the business, providing robust, autonomous and solution-oriented business partnering while managing risk, building capability and driving the positive evolution of ethical culture.
  • Support the leadership team members and associates in ERC related matters. Interpret, clarify and provide guidance on any issues related to the Novartis ERC program, local industry regulations and standards.
  • Provide strategic direction within the ERC team, in the setting up of objectives, prioritization and performance management.
  • Play a leading role in identifying opportunities for improvement and new ways of working within the team and in designing/proposing up-skilling interventions to propel the ERC team to new levels of performance/service.
  • Play a leading role in identifying areas of improvement in the local unit and driving solution implementation on simplification and process improvement.
  • If needed, oversee and coordinate timely & confidential investigations of matters escalated to or delegated to the ERC department.
  • Support design of an effective Anti-Bribery / Third Party Guideline framework and support the robust implementation/sustenance of the Novartis Emergency Management program when required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Life Sciences or any other related fields, Business, Finance or Law. Any additional relevant certification is a plus.
  • 5 years experience in the field of Ethics, Risk, Compliance or a risk function. Pharmaceutical, Biotech or related industry experience is a major plus. Other highly regulated industry experience will be considered.
  • A good understanding of the Canadian Pharma industry guidelines/legislation and international norms that guide practices in the pharmaceutical industry is expected.
  • Strong organizational presence, savviness and proven leadership experience.
  • Strong autonomous business partnering, a strong inclination to continuous improvement and a solution-oriented mentality. Proven capacity to sift through complexity to provide timely and pragmatic solutions to the business.
  • Bilingual: English and French
