You analyze, design, configure, develop, maintain and upgrade software in accordance with the organization’s needs. You ensure the quality and security of coded solutions.You draw on your ability to master new technology and anticipate innovations to help the team develop, standardize and deploy large-scale IT systems, programs and applications that significantly impact the organization. You analyze client and partner needs and recommend the appropriate technology solutions or the software products needed by a team. To this end, you plan, prioritize and coordinate work to deliver on the commitments made in line with the objectives. The nature of the files requires in-depth, innovative and extensive knowledge in your field.You help solve problems that have a very high level of operational and conceptual complexity, and that require analysis and a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical. You interact with a large number of stakeholders from a variety of fields. Highly developed interpersonal skills are therefore essential.You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies.General Information on the PositionMain responsibilities

• Optimize Oracle database performance while working with the data model manager and database administrators
• Serve as a PL/SQL expert advisor with development teams
• Optimize PL/SQL treatment and procedure performance
• Advise several teams in applying technology to develop business solutions and help them advance in order to improve delivery speed
• Develop highly complex execution strategies and analyze, design and document business products and solutions
• Analyze and develop software products, including design, coding, testing and operations, while applying development, data and security best practices
• Establish and draft development methods, design patterns, procedures and technology choices. Help develop documentation and prepare and deliver training for peers and users
• Co-create with business partners and architects to gain a complete understanding of business intentions and objectives, and standardize solutions accordingly
• Identify system optimization opportunities and underlying impacts of changes. Analyze, diagnose, track and resolve highly complex operational and conceptual problems during major incidents
• Represent the teams in dealings with senior managers and with partners and external organizations
• Provide expertise on adjusting Oracle data warehouse performance
• Leverage technical knowledge and extensive expertise on Oracle databases to make technical assessments and recommendations on design, code and BD settings

• Work place: Position located in Lévis or Montreal, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience with Linux and Linux Shell scripts
• Experience as an Oracle performance expert or Oracle database programmer
• Experience and knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Trace/Explain plans and SQL performance optimization
• Experience with Oracle 19g
• Practical experience configuring and troubleshooting Oracle products and patches

Specific knowledge

• Expertise in PL/SQL development, implementing stored and scripted procedures and solving complex PL/SQL performance issues
• Expertise in ETL
• Sound knowledge of the software development and data management cycle
• Knowledge of creating and maintaining tables, partitions, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, etc. in a multi-terabyte database
• Knowledge of Exadata, OID and cloud environments (an asset)
• Knowledge of accounting services (an asset)
• Knowledge of Oracle finance software (an asset)
• Advanced proficiency in English
