Job Description

HERE WE ‘GROW’ AGAIN!On July 29, 2022 Saint-Gobain completed the acquisition of Kaycan, a manufacturer and distributor of exterior building materials in Canada and in the United States. With this acquisition, Saint-Gobain reinforced its worldwide leadership in light and sustainable construction by becoming the top siding player in Canada and enlarging its vinyl offer across the United States with complementary solutions in aluminum and engineered wood.In support of this acquisition, KP Windows, has an exciting career opportunity for an HR Generalist to join the Cowansville, QC plant facility.WHAT’S THE JOBAs the successful candidate for this role, you will need to work independently, be proactive and have exposure to handling a variety of generalist HR functions, including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention, onboarding, health and safety reporting, performance management, training, policy development/ compliance/ implementation, compensation & employee relations and labour relations. This role will support the payroll department.Employee Relations

  • Respond to employee relations issues in the workplace and work effectively with all parties involved to address and resolve issues including leading all workplace investigations
  • Provides guidance and coaching to people leaders on employee relations related topics and escalates to the Regional HR Manager or labour team when appropriate
  • Ensure that all guidance, decisions making and solutions offered will be in accordance to all applicable employment legislations as well as internal policies, processes and procedures and ensure the best interest of both the company and its employees have been taken into account
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Oversee the full cycle hourly recruitment process from selection to onboarding
  • Creation and maintenance of practical job descriptions that can be used for multiple platforms such as postings, and performance reviews
  • Assumes lead role in working with site management to fill hourly vacant positions
  • Coordinate job and career fairs
Training & Team Engagement
  • Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, understands applicable EHS programs (reporting incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings
  • Coordinate annual performance reviews with departmental managers.
  • Continuously develop our corporate culture by leading & supporting all employee wellness & engagement initiatives, and Employee Social Events
  • Proactively helps to drive employee engagement at the site and make recommendation for activities that can improve engagement
Program Administration
  • Coordinate the activities to ensure the payroll department has all the necessary information of the movement of staff (new hires, terminations, promotions, leaves, benefit coordination etc.)
  • Produce and update various reports, including HR performance indicators, headcount, compensation, etc.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education with focus on HR or related field.
  • Minimum Experience: 2+ years in Human Resources, with Generalist experience in the key areas; performance management, exposure to payroll, recruitment and employee relations.
  • Good knowledge of current employment-related laws and legislations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication that can reach all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and diplomacy with all levels of the organization even under stressful/high pressured situations.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis to help guide business planning.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and coaching skills with the ability to exercise the appropriate level of confidentiality when required.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment in a respectful way, adapt to change and have the ability to influence others without authority in a direct and positive manner
  • Excellent organizational management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
