About Small DoorSmall Door is membership-based veterinary care designed with human standards that is better for pets, pet parents, and veterinarians alike. We designed and delivered a reimagined veterinary experience via a membership that includes exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing - delivered with modern hospitality in spaces designed by animal experts to be stress-free. We opened our flagship location in Manhattans West Village in 2020 as proof of concept, followed by our locations in 2021 (Upper East Side and Williamsburg). Small Door continues to scale in 2022 by opening locations in Gramercy (now open), Upper West Side, and additional locations in Boston, Washington DC, and NYC in 2022.This is the fifth company that Small Door’s founders have been involved in building. In building Small Door, they partnered with the people responsible for beloved consumer experiences like Warby Parker and Sweetgreen, in addition to healthcare innovators such as One Medical Group, CityMD and Flatiron Health. Small Door has raised $25 million from Lerer Hippeau, Primary Ventures, Brand Foundry, Toba Capital, and Pentland Group. The broader management team brings experience from JustWorks, Casper, One Medical Group, Soulcycle, Warby Parker, Sweetgreen, The Wing, Gilt Groupe, Lightspeed, and Outbrain.The IT Manager will report directly to the Head of Product and Technology and will work closely with the heads of departments to determine needs and gauge performance of the team.What youll do

  • Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks in our practices and in our headquarters;
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs;
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software;
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT;
  • Develop and implement strategies for remote device management (e.g. using jamf pro) to track, secure and support hardware assets;
  • Occasionally travel to new practices (before opening) and configure network, printers and software;
  • Monitoring security certificates and ensure the organization’s compliance with requirements;
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network security;
  • Establish a security policy to protect company information and resources;
  • Conducting regular system audits;
  • Lead high-impact projects such as SSO implementation and automated provisioning/deprovisioning of accounts.
Who you are
  • Knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems;
  • 3+ years of experience working in IT operations;
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices;
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field;
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills;
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with network administration (Cisco certification a plus);
  • Experience leading initiatives across the organization;
  • Knowledge of best practices surrounding asset tracking and remote device management.
