They are the cornerstone of our company, supporting our vision, shaping our culture and establishing our future direction.Job DescriptionThe Logistics Specialist is integral position within the Logistic department to oversee processes and ensure an effective execution. Our inland fluidity and asset velocity are at the grassroots of customer experience and cost efficiency. Through a specialized focus on the movement of our equipment, on the import and export cycles, this role will support the overall success.Key AccountabilitiesThe scope of the Specialist holds oversight on planning and execution for a category, process, or function with a 1-month view.

  • Key point of contact for the defined focus and hold accountability on the efficient execution.
  • Direct and provide support to improve the overall output through process improvement and cross department communications.
  • Develop, monitor, and drive an outcome from the defined KPIs.
  • Assume the ownership of the specified focus to drive a positive outcome.
  • Daily oversight and management of equipment control
  • Support on all equipment related functions:
  • Dwell management
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Equipment release
  • Maintenance and repair
  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholder to support asset velocity
QualificationsAll MSC Canada employees are expected to exhibit the MSC Values while exhibiting true customer centricity in all interactions with colleagues and customers alike.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in a logistics, supply chain or transportation function.
  • University education required (Supply Chain considered an asset).
  • Bilingual (French & English) required
  • Strong analytical & communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft skills with an ability to expand capabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
