Job Description

Job DescriptionThe opportunity:Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Manager of Communications will support the VP by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the communications team and bringing a modern, creative approach to all communications at Reitmans (Canada) Limited (RCL). This role is ideal for a corporate communications professional with a background in PR, communications or marketing. The successful candidate will ensure our communications align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.

  • In collaboration with the VP, develops and implements communication plans that meet business objectives, collaborating on all internal and external communications initiatives (corporate comms, supporting HR comms, investor relations, and public relations).
  • Writes and creates engaging content for various target groups using RCL branding and tone of voice, maintaining a cross-company network for effective content management and creation.
  • Manages organization of communications projects and assigns tasks to the team as needed (e.g., Town Halls, company events, printed communications assets).
  • Provides direction to in-house and external graphic designers, photographers, and other media-production specialists to complete communications.
  • Serves as the Community Manager for internal and external corporate communications channels, overseeing content, governance, and overall advancement.
  • Creates and deploys communication tools that support internal corporate programs and initiatives.
  • Researches and understands key business challenges, communication channels, target audiences, competitive activity, and environmental factors impacting our business and communications department.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the communications team, provides guidance, and supports their overall growth.
  • Reviews and monitors daily press coverage.
