It is privately held and has achieved high double digit annual growth and profitability since its inception.Job DescriptionSSENSE is looking for a Manager, Supplier Performance to strategically partner with our key suppliers and lead cross-functional projects to drive overall improvement to the benefit of our customers, suppliers, and broader SSENSE objectives. Reporting to the Director, Supplier Operations, this role is critical to our ambition to be a partner of choice for top brands as well as to ensure SSENSE is able to be first to market with the product that our customers desire.The ideal candidate is comfortable leading process improvement efforts in a fast paced environment and in partnering with senior leaders, both internally and externally.Supplier Management (75%)

  • Lead supplier performance projects to improve our entire supply partnership program, inclusive of technology deployments, process improvements, and change management that could impact over 100 team members in supplier operations or elsewhere in SSENSE
  • Lead engagement with top priority suppliers, developing a relationship with the suppliers’ senior operational leadership and driving improved operational outcomes
  • Define processes for our supplier engagement to be used by the entire supplier operations team
  • Partner with team members in Buying, Merchandise Planning, Fulfilment Operations, and Transportation to improve end-to-end processes for our entire supplier base or for targeted efforts for strategic suppliers
  • Partner with technology to define requirements and mature our supplier technology platform
  • Define and develop performance metrics to assess our supplier’s performance and build a robust balanced scorecard to benchmark performance
  • Hold regular performance reviews with key suppliers in order to improve collaboration and overall performance
  • Serve as the champion for overall change management throughout the supplier operations team
  • Lead and coach more junior team members to drive performance with suppliers they are responsible for
People Leadership (25%)
  • Lead hiring efforts and conduct interviews to attract and retain top talent
  • Lead the creation and development of training documentation for the team
  • Hold weekly one-on-ones, conduct performance reviews, analyse individual KPIs and assess promotion readiness to help each contributor evolve in their roles
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to gage and monitor team engagement and implement solutions to create a transparent, collaborative and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to establish the short term objectives for the department and ensure teams are engaged towards achieving the departments missions
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree, ideally Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in project management or in supplier operations, ideally in ecommerce or retail
  • 3 years of previous leadership experience
  • Experience engaging with external partners
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs internally with 10+ stakeholders
  • Experience working with industry leading tech platforms for PO management and supplier integration, such as SAP
  • Experience with both direct management of team members and influencing cross-functional teams and partners
  • Experience working with the following tools: Microsoft Visio / LucidChart, MS-Office Suite / Google Suite
Skills
