Job Description

Location: Brampton, Ontario, CanadaJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent, On-siteSalary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per yearDescription:Massage therapists evaluate soft tissues and joints to treat and prevent dysfunction, injuries, pain, and physical disorders. They practice in various settings including private practices, hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and educational institutions.Work Week Duration:Between 35 to 40 hoursJob Duties:Here are the primary activities and responsibilities of Massage therapists, along with the physical demands involved:

  • Assess clients through range of motion and muscle tests, and develop treatment plans.
  • Explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients.
  • Perform massage techniques including soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, joint pain and lower grade mobilizations, remedial exercise programs, and client self-help programs.
  • Recommend home care instructions and educate clients on techniques for postural improvement, stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises.
  • Maintain records of treatments provided.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, physicians, and psychologists in developing client treatment plans.
Qualifications:
  • Certification from an accredited college and in good standing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of health issues across all age groups.
  • Strong discipline, punctuality, courtesy, ethics, and compassion.
