A historic milestone for the region, and for McGill and its partners!Position Summary:Ensures the smooth operation and administrative support of Campus Outaouais’s teachings and students in accordance with McGill University’s mission and values. This role includes the implementation of administrative processes and policies related to the operation of a decentralized medicine training program, including the local application of policies and procedures and the establishment of appropriate liaison with the University’s central administrative units. Works with administrators and academics to implement the University’s mission in relation to its values and culture; implements document management; monitors agreements, grants and other formal relationships;collaborates on translations; supports governing bodies and committees; and protects university symbols..Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement moderately complex administrative procedures, policies and methods that meet or exceed established quality requirements; ensures the functional links with the University’s administrative excellence centres.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Outaouais Campus in accordance with established goals and objectives while ensuring liason with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Montreal.
  • Execute and organize activities to support the Campus’s day-to-day operations by ensuring that administrative services are performed in accordance with established goals and objectives.
  • Schedule meetings, conferences and events.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas and minutes.
  • Manage material resources in accordance with University and government rules.
  • Compile statistics and data. Update documents and reports, in print or on a website.
  • Provide support for student affairs, academic affairs, faculty development and research.
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in service delivery.
  • Solve administrative problems. If necessary, inform the supervisor and make recommendations.
  • Attend meetings.
This position is located at the Outaouais Campus in Gatineau.Qualifications and SkillsUndergraduate degree in a related discipline, preferably in health or education. Experience with university procedures and structures. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Abilities to prioritize multiple and varied requests, assess complex situations and determine priorities. Ability to anticipate problems, identify their source and propose solutions. Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and absolute discretion at all times. Great respect for confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
