Job Description

Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply.Job PurposeReporting to the Intervention Services Manager, the PAQ2 Site Co-Coordinator (Intervention), takes the lead on delivering quality, culturally appropriate intervention services at this low-barrier shelter and supervised consumption site (alcohol and cannabis only) for Indigenous community members who are sometimes struggling with addictions and other mental health challenges. The person in this role oversees the intervention team of 20+ front-line workers and has the overall responsibility to ensure participant and staff safety and security at the site, and compliance with all PAQ intervention protocols and procedures.This is a shared Coordination role with the PAQ2 Site Coordinator (Operations) and the PAQ2 Shelter Coordinator (Intervention – weekends).Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention support and coaching to the shelter Intervention team (approximately 50-60% time on the floor/in the tent).
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates on the on-line scheduling platform for all hours worked by members of the intervention team.
  • Coordinate and track all performance-related matters for intervention workers and bring them to the attention of the Intervention Services Manager.
  • When requested by the Intervention Services Manager, provide support to intervention worker recruitment processes.
  • With the Intervention Services Manager, support the development of culturally appropriate policies and protocols that ensure the safety and well-being of staff and participants at the shelter.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance of all site policies and protocols, including protocols related to COVID-19.
  • Liaison with external partners (government, donors), and with neighbours.
  • Produce statistics and reports for the shelter.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the impact of intergenerational trauma and on-going realities in Indigenous communities, urban barriers, and Indigenous social issues.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a senior intervention role, preferably within an Indigenous organization, and/or within the homelessness sector
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a team coordination role in a community-based organization.
  • Fluent in French OR English with a working knowledge of the other language; knowledge of an Indigenous language is an asset.
  • Strong team management and mentoring skills
  • Ability to communicate well with team members and use a collaborative approach
Required Academic or Other Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or DEC in Social Work, Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Completion of OMEGA or other similar training program is an asset.

Contract: Full-time, permanentLocation: Downtown Montréal, near St-Laurent and Sherbrooke. This is an on-site role and cannot be carried out remotely.Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, day and evenings. with regular day time hoursRemuneration and benefits
