If you thrive on tackling interesting challenges with continuous learning opportunities then Tecsys could be a good fit for you!Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer of the legal department, the paralegal will provide essential support to Tecsys’ legal and finance teams, and help them with various tasks related to contracts, corporate governance and other in-house legal matters.RequirementsResponsibilities:  

  • Review, draft, and manage contract documents including but not limited to
- Redlining NDAs in accordance with company guidelines. - Review and redlining of vendor agreements; support vendor management initiatives; and - Draft ancillary customer-facing contract documents, including amendments and orders.
  • Assist with corporate governance compliance, including filing of annual corporate returns, updating corporate declarations, drafting various resolutions, and ensure compliance with U.S. state filing requirements.
  • Manage inquiries to legal inbox from other business units, including sales, finance, human resources, and marketing.
  • Litigation: collection/preparation of evidentiary materials, assist with managing correspondence.
  • IP: manage patent and trademark portfolio in collaboration with external counsel.
  • Draft minutes of Board and various committee’s meetings.
  • Organize and file correspondence and legal documents in office and electronic filing system.
  • Coordinate and prepare visa, work permit, and permanent residency applications for Canada and the United States, with assistance from external counsel.
  • Assist with various ongoing legal projects and manage legal templates as required.
  • All duties to be performed maintaining the utmost of confidentiality.
    Qualifications:  
  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Paralegal Studies or a Law Certificate, or the equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a private corporation or translatable experience from a law firm.
  • Highly organized with strong document and file management skills.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English and French.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Ability to prioritize under tight schedules and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Superior knowledge with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
