Job Description

PLASTIC EXTRUSION SET UP TECHNICIANPlatinum Direct Hire Inc. has IMMEDIATE opportunities for direct hire Plastic Extrusion Set Up Technicians, in the Montreal area. Experience in plastic profile, extrusion and tooling an assetCOMPANY PERKS AND BENEFITS:

  • 8 hour shifts available; days, afternoons and midnight shifts
  • Must be able to work all shifts on an 8 week rotation, may be flexible
  • Steady day shift for senior level technicians possible
  • Evening and night shift premiums
  • Unionized position, no overtime at this time

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1+ year production experience in the extrusion/manufacturing process
  • Ability to perform testing compliance and quality assurance checks
  • Setup and troubleshooting of extrusion lines at all stages of the process including working with tools, dies and other extrusion line equipment
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the business
  • Complete production reports on a daily basis
  • Loading the production line, reworking and packaging of parts
  • MUST pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Own transportation preferred but is on a bus route
  • Must have basic math skills (fractions) and ability to read blueprints an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • On-site training provided
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum High school diploma
HOURLY RANGE:
  • $20 - $30+/hr to start Depending on experience
  • Up to $40/hr with 10 years experience, with a strong background in plastic profile, extrusion and tooling experience
