Just ask!Job LevelNV-11As Practice Leader, Screening and Security Intelligence Department, you serve as an expert advisor in deploying, supervising and monitoring the departments various operational activities, mainly those related to the Liaison Office, Criminal Intelligence Unit, and credit and security investigation activities.General Information on the PositionMain responsibilities

  • Serve as leading expert for your practice and its development
  • Help plan and manage your units priorities and assign employees to projects and initiatives. Assign initiatives and requests to your team members and ensure that they are completed
  • Develop and maintain close ties with law enforcement agencies and other partners through the Liaison Office in order to support dedicated teams in processing their requests (court orders, subpoenas, etc.) within the stipulated time frame
  • Represent Desjardins with external partners and law enforcement agencies (e.g., financial institutions, police forces, government agencies) and collaborate with them on matters under your responsibility
  • Serve as content expert and leader in handling strategic and sensitive files that require close communication or alignment with external partners and law enforcement agencies
  • Supervise and execute operations effectively, and represent Desjardins in all matters related to the Bank Crime Prevention and Investigation Framework (BCPIF)
  • Assist in the deployment and consolidation of the Criminal Intelligence Units operational activities by ensuring processes and work methods are implemented to centralize intelligence gathering and efficiently handle this information and the appropriate information sharing mechanisms
  • Establish criminal intelligence gathering strategies by diversifying and targeting all necessary sources of information (e.g., monitor commission enquiries, open sources) to optimize threat prevention, detection or response activities
  • Work in tandem with various stakeholders to ensure that their activities are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, best practices and regulations (by OSFI, FINTRAC, AMF and other organizations) regarding fraud and financial crime prevention, according to your departments activities
  • Maximize financial crime prevention and response activities to reduce impacts for members and clients, reputational risks, sanction risks, financial penalties and financial losses for Desjardins Group
  • Help implement efficient and robust operational practices in various fields in which the department operates, including credit and security investigation processes in particular, and ensure continuous improvement to reach operational processing targets

  • Work location: Montreal or Levis, depending on the candidates preference. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work #LI-Hybrid

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Experience in financial crime and/or intelligence
  • Experience working in an investigation office (an asset)

  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
