You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Maintain, Operate and Optimize all satellite links of Nunavut;
  • Optimize and Modify the QoS standards that evolves;
  • Manage the routing and load balancing between all the satellite links on a per-site basis;
  • Assist in the continuity of projects with other site departments and corporate office;
  • Work independently with little or no supervision;
  • Encourage new work habits of the different department adapted to the satellite reality and provide best practices guidelines;
  • Ensure Cybersecurity standards are applied to your practice;
  • Ability to follow Information Technology General Controls and Best Practices;
  • Conduct all work safely and follow all mine safety procedures;
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviors do not occur;
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Excellent leadership and self-government;
  • Excellent planning and self-organization;
  • Being able to work under high pressure in a time sensitive operations environment and stay focused in emergency situations;
  • Tactful communication and respect with his colleagues and clients;
  • Excellent knowledge of WAN optimization (SD-WAN);
  • Mastering of QoS concept (DSCP, tagging, policing, shaping);
  • Good knowledge of RF parameter for Satellite links (SNR, Eb/N0, RSSI, etc.);
  • Good knowledge of network (VLANs, routing, load balancing);
  • Experience with Office 365 Management;
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure and time sensitive operations environment;
  • Eagerness to learn and troubleshoot new technologies with proven problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Hands-on and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude;
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal outside support and supervision;
  • Remote mine and/or Arctic experience is an asset;
Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
