Your skills and passion in providing effective expertise and guidance on a range of housing programs will support key clients and their portfolios. You will represent CMHC in the full intake process and in many different interactions with clients and partners to discuss CMHCs full suite of programs and products.Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements a client relations management plan. Executes initiatives and funding, and influences and guides housing strategies for client groups within assigned portfolio and institutions to achieve long-term outcomes.
  • Provides business intelligence, advice, and guidance to senior management to resolve complex and sensitive issues, which includes the provision of training and coaching to internal and/or external clients.
  • Advises, supports clients, and identifies needs through the entire intake process and responds with customized housing solutions. Encourages the proactive sharing of information to build a cohesive awareness and understanding of client and participant compliance issues and associated risks.
  • Engages with other CMHC business lines to resolve complex or sensitive issues and promote innovation. Analyzes client needs to inform management on the way forward and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Creates and maintains relationships with key clients and broadening effective business relationships with relevant clients and partners on a continuous basis. Negotiates and implements continuous improvements to products and tools based on the assessment of their impact.
  • Serves as CMHCs lead representative to Indigenous and Northern communities, organizations, and housing providers.
  • Discusses, negotiates, and defends funding decisions with various levels of stakeholders and clients. Maintain positive and proactive communications, despite challenges, to instill the highest level of trust and confidence in CMHC as well as to demonstrate CMHC’s ability to be supportive of housing needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as business administration, finance or commerce.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in project development and client relations related to social and affordable housing and property management.
  • Experience working with clients in Indigenous communities and comprehensive understanding of Indigenous housing and awareness of social, economic and political trends affecting the provision of housing.
  • Solid knowledge of housing finance, project design and management, delivery, administration.
  • Ability to analyze, reason and work within complex frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CMHC housing programs and services available to develop affordable housing for Indigenous Canadians and in the North would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and foster key partnership relations that will facilitate the achievement of improvement objectives.
  • A valid driver’s license, as this position requires some travel
