In recruiting for our team, we welcome the unique contributions that you can bring in terms of your education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation, beliefs, experiences, and more.BDC’s IT department has been digitally evolving to meet new & future technology needs of the bank and as such the IT Performance Office is seeking a Specialist, IT Hardware Asset Management to join our team.The IT Asset Management (ITAM) team is responsible for the management of hardware and software technology assets, which includes optimizing the value and cost of technology assets while mitigating the risks these assets present to the organization throughout their life.This is done by establishing an effective technology life cycle that spans from technology asset selection, operation, refresh, migration, optimization, all the way through the retirement and disposal of the asset.Reporting to the Manager, IT Asset & Vendor Performance you will be enabled to enhance & optimize the hardware portfolio through building an effective, efficient Asset Management framework ensuring that technology investments or services are being strategically leveraged and are achieving their ROI.Your portfolio will consist of Endpoints and edge devices, HAM vendors, on-premises data center assets, cloud services, telecom, and wireless assets.You will lead the ongoing ServiceNow implementation for ITAM, and a CMDB, and participate in the development of digital workflows between cross functional teams and define the intake & request management aspects.Assist the various teams in navigating the operationalization & lifecycle of assets, services, contracts & vendors required within the IT function to support the broader BDC Transformation.Foster strong relationship management practices, lead cost savings initiatives, and identify technology modernization, automation & consolidation opportunities within your portfolio, aligned with architecture roadmaps.Report on, and manage key KPIs, for physical & digital assets via (ServiceNow dashboard) and contribute to vendor performance management reviews.Key Responsibilities (but not limited to the following)

  • Define HAM roadmap for future mode of operations, to overcome challenges based on standard methodologies.
  • Prepare and present cases to collaborators to achieve goals outlined in the roadmap.
  • Lead the implementation of the new defined HAM framework.
  • Develop proactive processes that enable efficient Hardware Asset Management, and ensure Assets are accurately represented in BDC’s ITAM toolsets, including ownership, financial data and asset status.
  • Collaborate with the Software Asset Management team and ITAM stakeholders such as the Enterprise Security, the Finance Asset Management, Architecture, and other international business units or stakeholders.
  • Maintain oversight of spending on technology asset support, understand associated maintenance agreements and hardware disposal processes, pricing strategies for IT Assets, and catalogue management.
  • Develop and promote effective ITAM strategies, policy, approaches, and practices across the full range of digital technology assets used within the organization.
  • Identify and report on breaches of ITAM policy and track remedial action. Report on (or develop reporting on) remediation of digital technology asset-related risks and progress of optimization activity.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, and that data completeness and quality issues are quickly identified and escalated to the responsible data or process owners.
  • Gather data on and provide analysis of all activities that have an impact on the value, cost, and risk of digital technology asset life cycles.
  • Provide IT finance with the data (inventory, costs, forecasts) to support the analysis of digital technology asset project and maintenance budgets and business cases, along with charge-out and allocation data.
  • Ensure that ITAM / HAM related tools and services are properly evaluated, selected, implemented, configured, and maintained, with appropriate integration with other sources of organizational data.
  • Leverage existing ITAM tools to enable Hardware Asset Management and find opportunities for continuous Service Improvement.
  • Assist internal audits team in the definition of controls based on the new framework.
Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Senior IT professional with at least 10 years of in-depth knowledge and experience of IT.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in IT Operations, hardware asset management, and customer/vendor relationships.
  • Prior ITAM roles (hardware or software) or demonstrable experience of working with IT asset management professionals to deliver ITAM capability and improved business outcomes.
  • Experience leading system or tool implementations, with responsibility for verifying capabilities, outputs, dependencies, and implementation scope.
  • Strategic thinking — An understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to develop a vision and strategy for ITAM and execute it effectively to drive results toward those objectives.
  • Interpersonal skills — Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix management environment (as well as external vendors and service providers) to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated.
  • Strategic vision — Ability to sense emerging needs and drive change as ITAM develops and matures to meet organizational and technology challenges.
  • Proactive, interactive, tenacious, and persistent that can lead both technical specialists and local management.
  • Problem solving sound sense of judgment, ability to assess, reason, improvise and advocate solutions to problems.
  • Results oriented: completes assigned activities within agreed timeframes, able to recognize priorities and deliver results.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key business and technical concepts, and then effectively communicate these concepts with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Bilingual spoken and written (English & French).
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, finance & accounting, data processing and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in process formulation and improvement.
  • The following certifications are considered an asset:
    • ITIL Foundation certification
    • Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
    • ServiceNow Asset Management Enterprise or Pro
    • Familiar with IT asset Discovery tools
