Pour ce rôle, vous serez une experte ou un expert de la recherche appliquée en IA, plus spécifiquement pour le domaine de l’optimisation des modèles d’apprentissage automatique: compression, distillation et quantification appliquées tout particulièrement aux modèles de traitement automatique de la langue. À l’échelle de ServiceNow, chaque pourcentage d’amélioration de notre efficacité a un impact mesurable sur les opérations de l’entreprise. In turn, those learning are passed along to the rest of the ATG through our innovation pipeline. Here is a chance to be part of the Emerging Technologies Lab, a team that aims to investigate research breakthroughs in AI, validate that they are appropriate for use by ServiceNow then disseminate our learnings by equipping developers and scientists across the organization with new capabilities.RoleApplied research is the process through which we apply fundamental concepts to the real world in all its imperfect and unpredictable glory. In this role, you will be an applied AI research expert who will work mainly in the field of model optimization: compression, distillation, quantization, etc. as applied mainly to natural language processing. At the scale at which ServiceNow operates, every percentage of increased efficiency translates to big savings in deployment of AI technologies. You will thrive in this role by being able to quickly understand the problem at hand, consider potential solutions, and validate your ideas. As a member of the Emerging Technologies Lab, good communication skills are a must to bridge the gap from fundamental research to early production work.QualificationsPour réussir dans ce rôle, vous avez :

• Une maitrise avec 6 ans d’expérience pratique (préférablement en entreprise) ou un doctorat avec 3 ans d’expérience pratique dans un domaine pertinent.
• Au moins une année d’expérience où vous avez optimisé des modèles d’apprentissage automatique en utilisant des méthodes tels que la distillation, la compression ou la quantification.
• Une familiarité avec PyTorch, Tensorflow ou un outil équivalent utilisé pour le calcul scientifique sur cartes graphiques.
• Une familiarité à faire une revue de la littérature ainsi que l’implémentation (parfois à partir de zéro) de la meilleure solution que vous avez trouvée.
• Une expérience avec le développement de prototype d’IA ainsi que l’habileté de rapidement vérifier s’il vaut la peine d’investir dans une certaine technologie.
• Habileté à écrire du code source de prototype, c’est-à-dire qui balance le besoin d’être correct avec le besoin d’être produit rapidement.
• Une familiarité avec l’entrainement de gros modèles d’apprentissage profond qui requiert l’usage de douzaines de cartes graphiques à travers plusieurs nœuds de calcul, un atout.
• De l’expérience avec l’utilisation de CUDA, nvprof et d’autres outils de bas niveau permettant d’optimiser l’usage des ressources de calculs est un atout.
• Un parcours démontrant votre capacité à composer avec l’ambigüité, prioriser les besoins et produire des résultats dans un environnement dynamique.
• Une attitude qui priorise les résultats plutôt que les méthodes.

To be successful in this role you have:

• A MSc with 6 years of experience (preferably in industry) or a PhD in a relevant field with 3 years of industrial experience.
• At least one year of experience doing model optimization. This includes but is not limited to: distillation, compression, or quantization.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, Tensorflow or equivalent tools used for running computations on GPUs.
• Familiarity with doing literature research and implementing (sometimes from scratch) the best solution found.
• Experience in the development of AI prototypes and the ability to quickly validate whether a certain avenue is worth pursuing.
• Proficiency in producing prototype-level source code that balances correctness with efficiency.
• Experience using CUDA, nvprof, and other low-level tools to optimize the usage of computing resources is an asset.
• Experience in training large models that requires the use of dozens of GPUs across multiple nodes an asset.
• A proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
• A “getting things done” mindset.
