Law – Éducation - ConnexionLe Service des admissions de la Faculté de droit cherche à combler deux postes demploi à temps partiel pendant l’année scolaire pour deux étudiant(e)(s) en droit. Les candidat(e)(s) seront formé(e)s par les anciennes coordinatrices du Programme L.E.X. et travailleront avec la doyenne adjointe (Équité - Épanouissement des Noir.e.s et des Autochtones) afin de continuer le développement et la mise en œuvre de ce programme.L.E.X., formerly known as the High School Outreach Program, has been in existence for approximately 12 years, and offers youth from communities underrepresented in law school and the legal profession the opportunity to engage with and establish a connection to the worlds of law and university academia. Additionally, L.E.X. offers law students an opportunity to engage with their law studies in a way that involves them in the Montreal community in a meaningful way. Further information can be found here: http://www.mcgill.ca/law-studies/student-wellness/volunteering/outreachNous prévoyons un travail à temps plein pour une période denviron deux (2) semaines pendant l’été (répartition à discuter) et un travail à temps partiel pour une période de dix heures maximum par semaine pendant l’année scolaire. Le salaire est au taux facultaire. Sous la supervision de la Doyenne adjointe (Équité - Épanouissement des Noir.e.s et des Autochtones), les tâches incluront, entre autres:

  • Program Oversight & Evaluation
    • Seeking out feedback from participants in this year’s program, and building from recommendations made by previous coordinator
    • Developing areas that need improvement and more attention – help grow vision
    • Ensure alignment of L.E.X. program initiatives with outreach goals in McGill’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan
    • Adapting L.E.X. programming and outreach to accommodate unique challenges presented by COVID-19 pandemic (including exploring opportunities for in-person, hybrid and, or virtual delivery of content going forward, as needed)
    • Visiting our partner schools and meeting the teachers with whom we collaborate
    • Contributing materials to the L.E.X. website
    • Organizing the L.E.X conference and networking/sharing circles
    • Overseeing the scheduling, coordination and execution of L.E.X. visits
    • Planning and overseeing the execution of welcome events to the university, in collaboration with Admissions Office
    • Organizing any additional activities/events that may be appropriate, in discussion with the faculty advisor.
  • Program Evolution & Updating
    • Familiarizing yourself with outreach initiatives at other law schools with a view to constantly improving the program
    • Updating and organizing the L.E.X. lesson plans, deliverable sheets, training materials and others
    • Developing relationships with other outreach organizations at McGill (e.g. First Peoples’ House, Branches Program) and outside of McGill, where appropriate
  • Human Resource Management
    • Planning and executing facilitator training
    • Continuing to develop methods of feedback for facilitators, teachers and students
    • Recruiting Point Persons and Team Leaders
    • Recruiting facilitators
  • General
    • Regular liaison and dialogue with our faculty advisor, Assistant Dean Kimberly Lee-Louis
    • Supporting coordination of media relations, where appropriate
Candidates should be bilingual, have administrative experience and the ability to interact with various constituencies and groups.
