When you join the team, you’ll be working with and learning from the most skilled people in the business.Job DescriptionDescriptionWe are looking for a Senior SysOps engineer to join our team based in our Montreal office. You will help design, build and deliver reliable solutions that are supporting technologies which underpin our visual effects production network. Working with our global Software and Systems Engineering teams, you will help to improve the speed, reliability, and security of our production infrastructure.MPC has been a global leader in visual effects for over 25 years, delivering some of the most technically challenging and widely recognized movies in production today. This opportunity allows you to deliver technology and services to our global teams in Systems and Production.In this dynamic and fast changing environment, we need creative thinkers and pragmatic problem solvers who have the ability to communicate ideas, collaborate, and take initiative. Building solutions that will ensure a successful delivery of technology used to create the next award winning imagery in the visual effects industry.Primary Responsibilities

  • Champion of best development and automation practices
  • Design, architect and build tools, workflows and technologies to help us manage our existing Systems infrastructure, both on-prem and in the cloud
  • Manage initiatives and execute tasks in collaboration with local and remote team members
  • Work with and mentor more junior members of the team to help resolve issues and solve problems
QualificationsSkills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a SysOps and software development role
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Knowledge of Python, or any other scripting language
  • Experience with SysOps stack from implementation to maintenance
  • Linux system administration knowledge
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building and maintaining system configuration automation and building test automation
  • Experience administrating and supporting infrastructure for high load and large number of users and tasks
  • Experience with source control, in particular Git, and associated best practices
  • Experience in using and building tools that integrate with Jira
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to work in a flexible and changing environment
Desired additional skills
  • Experience with networking, firewall, web technologies and security protocols
  • Experience with building monitoring and reporting infrastructure
  • Experience with container technology
