Job Descriptionthis is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on site in our Montreal officeAs our Digital Workflow Software Team Lead, you will lead a team of software developers in the implementation of the Edge and Cloud based hardware abstraction layer and Machines Configuration Web based systems for everything that Vention has to offer. This enables communications between the vention ecosystem and our thousands of machine parts interactions on factory floors.To be a successful Team Lead, you will first have to master every technical aspect of our software and automation technologies. You will have the opportunity to show ownership over our products, interacting with various stakeholders (Product Manager, the development team, a designer and a QA Analyst), guiding technical decisions, organizing your team’s work, and finally bringing your projects to completion!More specifically, you will:

  • Have 5 amazing team members that will report directly to you. You will help them grow their careers on a technical and interpersonal level.
  • Work every day with full stack web development (Javascript, React, Docker, Arm Linux Computers) and robot programming os (ROS), hands on.
  • Guide our technical decisions. Architect our code stack for various environments: CAD and Edge, as well as running making sure that our software is performant in both environments.
  • Participate in the design of the user experience and our graphical user interfaces.
  • Participate in the testing of your solutions on physical hardware, interacting with several robot arm manufacturers (Fanuc, UR, Doosan, etc.).
  • Organize your team’s work: quarterly plannings, sprint plannings and tracking, reviews, automated tests, deployment and team mentoring on software best practices.
  • Own a core piece of our product line. You are joining us for the long run.
