Reporting directly to the Training Team Lead based in Toronto, the Bilingual Technical Training Specialist is able to work remotely with occasional travel to the Toronto and Montreal areas.The Bilingual Technical Training Specialist will partner with the business by assisting in the development and facilitation of high-quality training curricula. This role will develop and facilitate training material in French to support the theory and technical training requirements of the business. Courses are delivered both virtually and in-person, as required. Supported by a high-performing team of professionals, this role has immediate access to the required technology support functions, business leaders, and subject matter experts.The Bilingual Technical Training Specialist will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of training materials and related resources
  • Modify existing training materials to support delivery of instructor-led and eLearning content in French
  • Develop eLearning content for videos or web-based courses
  • Facilitate technical training courses for new and existing staff, in both English and French, according to business needs and with the highest quality
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, business partners, and peers to align training development with desired outcomes and ensure all material is relevant, accurate, and engaging
  • Creatively bring ideas to life by developing a full range of content for various delivery methods including eLearning
  • Share responsibility for identifying and applying appropriate instructional design techniques based on internal business unit objectives and/or learning strategy
  • Analyze and utilize participant feedback, comments, and recommendations to enhance learning solutions
  • Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm in order to engage a diverse group of adult learners
  • Assist in the development of training project plans including timelines, milestones, and accountabilities
  • Provide training and support to individuals and groups of users on the technology core applications
  • Update existing training materials by incorporating technical and procedural changes to maintain currency of course materials
  • Support the evaluation of training by observing, measuring, testing, reviewing, and analyzing training to ensure that learning objectives are met effectively

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Certificate in, or working towards, Adult Training (CTP or CTDP)
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and facilitating training content and courses for adult learners
  • Extensive experience utilizing eLearning tools and concepts (e.g., Articulate 360, Camtasia, Camtasia, InDesign)
  • Experience in construction and/or utilities is strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (ideally JD Edwards) is considered a strong asset
  • Experience with project and/or construction management software (ideally Procore) is considered a strong asset
  • Prior project management experience is considered a strong asset
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles with experience in competency and needs analysis
  • Strong diagnostic and communication skills, both written and verbal, specifically presentation/facilitation skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills; proven ability to build credible collaborative relationships
