Novipro is looking for a Unix Systems Administrator. This is a 12 month renewable mandate for one of our well-known clients in the banking industry.   • Within the system administration team, you will onboard the Level 3 Unix server support team.
  • As part of an agile system team, you will be responsible for implementing the security recommendation of the CIS Benchmark on our Unix OS (Red Hat / CentOs)
Technical Stack RED HAT | CENTOS | PUPPET | ANSIBLE | PYTHON | GIT | IDMWhat will be your day-to-dayYour focus will be to implement OS hardening recommended by the CIS Benchmark on Unix OS.As you start working on the project the day-to-day work will be to define the best strategy to implement the remediation. For that you will have to work closely with our vulnerability Management team who will help you through.Once the analysis is done you will collaborate with the Unix team to get the security remediations implemented. In the process you will be acquainted with our way of managing our 3500 servers infrastructure. Puppet and Ansible are our main technologies when it comes to automation and configuration management.This entire project will develop in two parts as we will start working on the newer OS first, and make our tested and implemented remediations apply to our legacy environment then.If you like digging on security documentations and understanding deep system configuration, this job is for you.In addition to your day-to-day, you will get the opportunity to learn more about Ansible and Unix administration in general.We also have a puppet infrastructure which has a very interesting and industrial implementation. It will improve your knowledge on how to manage a large infrastructureAs necessary and depending on your capabilities, you may be asked to contribute to the overall vulnerability management and patching for the Unix serversProfile What does it take to get the job
  • Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent job experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and understand complex security configuration on Unix OS
  • Knowledge of Unix system administration
  • Experience working with Cybersecurity analysts
  • Knowledge of Unix scripting automation
In addition, it is a plus if you have:
  • Minimum of 2 years in a development or system administration role
  • ITIL certification
  • Track record of delivering continual improvements & automations
